Documentary Film ‘Rivers Return: Sustainable Uttlesford and the Collective Imagination’
Rivers Return is a documentary celebrating community-led river restoration across the Uttlesford district in Essex.
Premiered at the Big Green Festival in June 2026, the film follows the people, partnerships and local efforts working to restore and protect Uttlesford’s rivers – from chalk streams on the River Cam to landscape-scale restoration at Audley End Estate, the River Roding through the Bluespaces Trout project, and the grassroots River Champions helping build a catchment-wide movement.
Featuring Newport River Group, CURAT (Campaign for the River Cam), Audley End Estate, Rodings & West Essex Farm Cluster, Farming Wildlife Advisory Group East, Cam Catchment Partnership, and Thaxted River Champions.
