Prolonged Dry Weather Declared in parts of East Anglia Area 22nd June 2026

The Environment Agency has recently moved the CamEO catchment from “Normal” to “Prolonged Dry Weather” status.

That doesn’t mean we’re officially in drought.

What it means is that the Environment Agency is concerned enough about the condition of our rivers, groundwater and water resources to step up monitoring and begin preparing for the possibility of more serious impacts if dry conditions continue.

In other words, it’s a signal that the landscape is under stress.
