We have recently joined a global imitative by trailing Fresh Water Watch kits within the CamEO partnership. Driven by Ian Hawkins (Bury St. Edmunds Trout Club), the project is aiming to engage partners in 10 locations throughout the catchment to show just how simple, easy and effective citizen science can be. Fresh Water Watch kits can be used to give an indication of the quality of river water, by measuring phosphorus, nitrate and sediment levels in samples. We hope that this project will encourage more people to get hands-on with their rivers and get a better understanding of local pressures.
